Adam Milstein: Founder Of IAC And On The Jerusalem Post’s Top 50 List

Adam Milstein is a Jewish American who has spoken out on behalf of Israel and their interests, and has formed non-profit groups geared at strengthening Israel’s relations with the US. He’s donated to a lot of health and charity non-profit groups through the Milstein Foundation, and is Chairman of the Board of the Israeli-American Council (IAC). He’s also with the Jewish National Fund, Students Supporting Israel, Stand With Us and Jerusalem U. He was recently named at #39 on the Jerusalem Post’s Top 50 Most Influential Jews of 2016, an honor that’s been given to people including current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli politician Isaac Herzog.

Adam Milstein was a part of the migration of Jews back to Israel when it became a nation-state in 1948. His parents had both moved from Latin America, and his father served in the war of independence before becoming a construction manager and building framer. His father’s job required the family to move a lot while Adam was a young man, so he lived in three different cities growing up. Adam served under then Commander Ariel Sharon in 1973 when he fought in his unit during the Yom Kippur War, a war that saw Israel beat the Egyptian forces all the way through Egypt’s borders in that time. He returned home after the war and got his bachelor’s degree from Technion, Israeli Institute of Technology and married Gila Elgrably during that time.

In 1981, Adam and Gila moved to the US where Adam completed his MBA at the University of Southern California. He had become an accomplished real estate professional by then, and he joined Hager Pacific Properties in Los Angeles where he oversaw strategic developments and financing for various property purchases. Adam Milstein formed the Milstein Foundation in the year 2000, and started becoming actively involved with Jewish charity groups. A big part of the foundation’s work is forming relationships with Jewish American leaders and target audience groups, and coming together as part of a common pro-Israel cause. He and Gila also strive to educate different age groups in Jewish traditions and heritage.
